No time, must breathe

I’m swamped with work from work, uni, dancing and dance teaching. So my blog has been neglected. I’m sorry — for you (because you like reading, right?) and especially for me (because I love writing).

Maybe just quickly, I’ll let you know what’s happening.

Work
I’m helping to audit an oil refinery, making sure they follow their environmental licence. The job involves travelling to Geelong. I’ve had 7 AM starts all week.

Next, I’ll be down the Peninsula to test the water quality of a dam at a horse farm. Horse farm? Stable? Stud?

University
I’ve started a Chinese Media Studies unit to help me deceipher Chinese newspaper articles. I’m enjoying it. I will say that uni students in general seem young now. They swear and talk about getting wasted at Lorne on the weekend. Those kind of conversations don’t happen at work.

Dancing
We’re competing at a national championship in less than two weeks so we’re being driven into the ground. Training, training, training.

Dance teaching
My students are competing in that same competition and organising costumes is a pain the the behind.

Oops. Time to sleep.

“I will say that uni students in general seem young now. They swear and talk about getting wasted at Lorne on the weekend”…ehh?

Uni students have always been young- that sentences confuses me as a uni student. The Lorne part makes me think you are referring to a very specific crowd at uni.

    Cheers

I was being a bit faceatious 🙂 Of course uni students have always been like that. In fact, I think adults are like that too except that in an office environment, they hide it better!

The Lorne part was just me referring to a very specific conversation I heard in my class, which triggered my original comments. A girl was boasting (gloating?) about what a fun weekend she had getting drunk. I was jolted to hear it, because I haven’t heard that kind of conversation for so long (two months?). I was also surprised that I was surprised. I didn’t realise that I had gotten used to the working/formal environment.

    Thanks for visiting, Ishan!
