Well, I’ve been let down again. I came to uni to practice dancing with my competition dance partner. He didn’t show up because he forgot his dance shoes (I had to ring him). I then went to the computer labs to meet my group mate for a project. She rang to say that she’s feeling sick. I got a text message from one of my student today. She’s on an excursion and won’t be able to make it to our tutoring session this afternoon. And I bet you anything that my two hip hop students will be late for our private lesson today.
Don tells us that if someone lets you down once, you get rid of them. You should not tolerate it — this is the only way to create a good team around you. That’s all well and good, Don, but if I did this, I would quickly have no one around me.
I’m going to the dentist this afternoon for my half-yearly check up. At least she’s my friend. She won’t disappear on me… although I might get an expensive bill.
Oh, well. This is why I never worry about not having done my homework. Things like this always happen and I get bonus homework time… and blogging opportunities 🙂
Hmm, getting rid of someone after they let you down once is a bit harsh, isn’t it? Surely everyone deserves more than one chance.
On the other hand, I know some of us are too tolerant sometimes — some of us give people too many chances, which is just detrimental to ourselves.
