I thought of all places in the world, there would be the greatest chance for name products in England to include ‘Joan’ in their range. Joan is a good English name. It used to be popular in the 1920s and 1930s.
I looked amongst the pea pots in a tourist shop at the seaside town of Whitby. As always, there was no Joan.
There’s never any Rohan either. Rowan, sometimes. But imitations aren’t good enough.
Would you settle for Joanne? You could obscure or remove the last two letters somehow.
Of course I could never find Ai in Australia 🙁 BUT there’s plenty here in JAPAN!
Hrm… I think this is American but perhaps similar results could be applied to the UK. Looks like it’s not as popular are you think! That makes you more unique! 😎

There’re a lot of annoying ‘Jonathan’ or ‘Jon’s around. Crazy Jon’s mobile phones, my brother had a good go at me about those. Oh and he used to say he was going to the ‘Jon’ when he went to the toilet (playing off the American slang, no idea how to spell it, but it sounds like Jon). There’s no easy way to mock the name Joan I think! 🙂
Ai on the other hand… 😛
