I taught my first hip hop classes for the year. Teaching is unpredictable. My first class was great. Everyone had a good time, there was interest and chatter. I felt I paced it right.
The second one was bad, not the worst one I’ve had but still on the not good end of the scale. The problem was that there was a mixture of levels. I don’t like to bore the people who already know the routine but I have to look after the beginners too. I think I did a bad job. The class was too quiet.
Ah, well. You win some, you lose some.
You probably too hard on yourself. I’m sure the second class can’t be that bad!

Differentiation between people of varied learning styles and at different developmental stages is one of the major challenges in teaching 🙂 I’ve been struggling with getting it right for ages, so dun feel bad, I’m pretty sure that if you’re aware of the difference in ability b/w ppl in ur class, then you’re probably already catering more for them than other teachers normally would :)
